HighLIGHTing Science Meeting

Our ESRs organized their first online conference on May 27th-28th, 2021. They gathered 12 speakers, who presented their work around the theme of light.

SENGE Group awarded

The group of Pr Mathias Senge has won the « Chemical Laboratory of the Year » award from The Irish Laboratory Awards 2021!!

Best poster award

Claire (ESR 8), Piotr (ESR 9) and João (ESR 4) won the best poster awards at the 5th Photodynamic Day organized by Acibadem University on May 18th!

Project extension

Because of the pandemic, POLYTHEA has been granted a 6 month extension, to allow our ESRs to defend their thesis in the best conditions possible.
The project will end on June 30th, 2022.

Conferences

19th congress of the ESP: Claire (ESR 8) and Piotr (ESR 9) presented their work to the 19th Congress of the European Society for Photobiology. Bhavya (ESR 5) presented a poster.
Pr Mathias Senge, Dr Ligia Silva, Pr Fabienne Dumoulin, Pr Luis Arnaut and Pr Tayyaba Hasan also gave talks during the congress.
TCD 3rd year talks: On September 2nd, 2021, Piotr (ESR 9), Harry (ESR 6) and Zoi (ESR 2) had their 3rd year Ph.D. talk online, an event gathering TCD and UCD 3rd year PhD students.
ACS Fall Meeting: Zoi (ESR 2) presented her work to the ACS Fall Meeting on August 22nd, 2021.
University of Miami: Dr René Williams was one of the keynote speakers at a conference organized by the University of Miami. His talk is available on YouTube at this address: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbSQkrs49ss&t=1756s
Irish Association for cancer research: Zoi (ESR 2) presented a poster at the Irish Association for cancer research virtual conference on March 24th-26th, 2021.
University of Mexico : Nidia (ESR 7) was invited on January 19th to give a talk on her research and the project by the Insitute of Chemisty of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México.
It was a verty nice way to present her work and the project outside of Europe.
